Originally hailing from Washington, DC, Garza’s legacy includes a timeless music catalog that’s still in rotation today. His infusion of electronic music with the international flavors of dub, trip hop, reggae, and bossa nova gave birth to a new era of sound that has attracted a cult following across the decades. Since relocating to San Francisco, Garza’s latest experimentations take him to the far corners of the globe with solo DJ sets showcasing the best of Deep House and Nu-Disco. Ever the entrepreneur, Rob has multiple restaurants and clubs in Playa del Carmen, Mexico as well as Papa Diablo, a hand-crafted, top-shelf Mezcal made in Oaxaca, Mexico. Keep an eye out for his upcoming release this March 2015 of his debut EP “ Palace of Mirrors” releasing on his own label, Magnetic Moon Records. 2015 will be an exciting year to come!

For Garza – who’s devoted much of his life to creating a richly-textured foundation that’s defined Thievery Corporation – solo appearances for more intimate audiences inspires new creations based off the culture and styles encountered during his travels. Whether opening for Paul McCartney with Thievery, DJing in Nepal for climbers tackling Mt. Everest, or in more obscure clubs in remote corners of the world, an impeccable taste in music style resonates through the foundation of every show.

For inspiration, Garza continues to mine the sounds he’s discovered through traveling the global dance scene. “When I first came to San Francisco, I returned to my electronic roots in the dance community while also spending a great amount of time in Mexico, where there is a great dance music scene” says Garza. “There’s so much going on in terms of people taking influences from all these different genres—like house and dub and new wave and disco—and putting it all together in a way that’s very new and original and inspiring to my own music.”

His 2013 “Remixes” album presents a kaleidoscope of his past work with artists like Tycho, Gogol Bordello, Afrolicious, and Federico Aubelle and marked the start of a new chapter in his eternal music odyssey. Later in 2013, Garza teamed up with Canadian deep house producer Neighbour to release “Calle del Espirtu Santo.” Inspired by the spirit of his travels in Madrid, Spain, the EP is the first in a series of releases that recount the memories only an international music explorer can tell.

Follow Garza through social media to watch each chapter unfold or visit http://robgarza.com/tour to become part of the story at a show near you.

The Polish Ambassador (real name David Sugalski) is raising the bar for what it means to be a professionally touring musician. Sure, the electronic musician lays claim to producing the sweetest beats this side of the Milky Way Galaxy, but the world’s funkiest diplomat is also using his popularity to steer the millennial generation toward a nourishing and sustainable way of relating with art, community and the planet. From birthing the Permaculture Action Movement (a movement where the energy of show/festival goers is catalyzed into community action), to creating a program where nutritious beverage options are available at music venues on a routed TPA tour, the ambassador is using his clout to make real, tangible change, and along the way inspiring hundreds of thousands.

Within the past four years, Croatia Squad has been delivering high quality deep and tech house with releases on some of the biggest and most respected labels in Electronic Music such as, Toolroom Records, Enormous Tunes, Ministry Of Sound, Sirup Music, and Milk & Sugar. While on remix duties, their Calippo remix, “Looking for A Meaning”, made it to Beatport’s top 100.

In 2009 Croatia Squad ran the successful annual compilation series “Croatia The Opening” which contains exclusive chill-out tracks from some of the biggest names in scene. That same year they also signed their first release, “Electric Masquerade” EP on Enormous Tunes, including a remix by house music legend Daniel Portman – later signed to Toolroom Records.

In 2013, their collaboration with Calippo, “The Conductor”, was signed to Ministry of Sound. Croatia Squad’s new single “Be Good To Me” has been in the top 3 for weeks, and is sure to be this year’s Beatport indie charts sensation gaining global attention from some of the biggest names. On the other hand the latest EP “All Alone” includes a classic house infused nu disco monster “Give it All Away”. Full of bass line, pumping beat sections, touchy major chords and an urban like vocal hooks, calling it a crowd pleaser would be an understatement.

The revolutionary distinctive sound is only an instrumental part of the success. Taken part for years in Europe’s dance culture, and playing at legendary venues, through genre shifts and changes, gaining experience, and knowledge, learning about the affinity with the crowd, which he uses intelligently to build a connection. Trying to bring the world of underground house and techno in a way that can be accepted by the mass public is the goal for Croatia Squad’s upcoming DJ-Tour.

“I create music to inspire movement. A beat starts in my head, and will drive me crazy until I sit down and take the time to bring it to existence. Through wires it goes, and is able to materialize thorough the speakers. But it is not until I get to watch people embody the music through dance that it feels like the cycle of a song has been completed. I want to create music that will take you to the stars and back while helping you both lose yourself and find yourself a in the rhythmic layers.” – Vitamindevo

Vitamindevo’s genre of choice is Bass House, but he loves mixing it with tribal tech-house, deep house, and acid elements. Music has always been his preferred form of therapy since he was young enough to hear and would spend hours banging on the drums in his parent’s basement studio jamming to the sounds of 60’s and 70’s rock. Thankfully he never lost his obsession with music. In college he was first introduced to the electronic music scene in Florida, then after moving to Brooklyn in 2004, he began to be influenced by the industrial synchronicity, depth and scale of New York.

Most recently Vitamindevo co-founded a music brand, under the name Laser Native. With a goal set to create space for people to connect, grow and dance together under a unifying vision. Releases are being pushed with up and coming artists in the Bass house & Techno worlds. With a monthly event at Monarch in San Francisco, along with multiple one offs, we are continuing to build the tribe.

Vitamindevo has now been a part of the scene for over fourteen years, including ten spent DJing and producing, and he has no desire to slow down now! He has performed up and down the East and West Coasts, at clubs, warehouses, forests and deserts in NYC, SF, LA, Northern California, and Nevada as both Vitamindevo and his old duo 3l3tronic. He has collaborated with Truth Now, Bianca Dino, Nico Tower, Stillwell, etc. His newest side project is Gydyr, a bass-focused alter-ego, that he has performed as at Warfield opening for Knife Party, as well as being an Insomniac Discovery Project winner. (deleted last sentence here. unnecessary.)

You don’t go to a Vitamindevo show to sit, you go to see the speakers explode with energy on a sweat-drenched dance floor where time seems to stand still. His shows are a multi-dimensional experience brought to life with him dancing with you while weaving layers of rich digital components. The only thing better than getting lost in his music is looking up and seeing him dancing right along with you.

“I envision myself as the captain of a musical ship and my compass is the rhythm that I use to navigate the heart and soul of our sonic languages.” – Vitamindevo

Brian Cox, known around the San Francisco bay area as DJ Nugz, Nuggets, Nugzie, B Nugz, Nugalicious, Nougatino, Dr. Nugz, or Judge Nuggalito began his career in music when he acquired his first turntable at the age of 5, making “pause button” mix tapes at the age of 10, and getting on a set of Technics 1200 MK2 turntables a few years later. He now has over 20 years experience in the booth.
While living in Boulder, Colorado in the 90s, Nugz gained two distinct achievements. He acquired residencies at Soma in Boulder (voted one of the top ten clubs in America by BPM and several other dance music publications), and the number one club in Colorado at the time, Vinyl (formerly 1082 Broadway in Denver). Nugz consistently played with profound success at both of these clubs until they closed, along with numerous others in the Denver /Boulder area while still at a very early point in his career.
Brian moved to San Francisco in 2004, and when he isn’t traveling to places like Mexico, Argentina, Berlin, the Miami Winter Music Conference, New York, Vegas, or Burning Man (has DJ’d for last 12 yrs), he can be heard performing in prominent SF nightspots such as Mighty, Public Works, Ruby Skye, Mezzanine, Yoshi’s, and the legendary 1015 Folsom. He made his mark creating late night underground soirees at a special little space known as “123”, with his production company Footprint Sound. These are regarded by true nightlife professionals as some of the best parties in SF. He continues to produce weekly and monthly events all around the bay, and during these nights and early mornings he shares the booth with the likes of Donald Glaude, Lee Burridge, Modeselektor, BT, Tycho, Martin Buttrich, Lee Coombs, Elite Force, Deekline, The Scumfrog, Audiofly, and Sander Kleinenberg to name a few.
He is able to blend drastically different beats from all sorts of genres, tell a story, and create a sound/vibe that are truly his own. A risk taker who “owns it”, works in heavy, moving, melodic basslines, unexpected builds and drops, sometimes dirty sometimes bouncy, seamless transitions from the “four on the floor” beat of house to “on the one” slowed down breaks and back again. His sets range from 115 – 140 BPM, incorporating custom re-edits and remixes. He tends to pitch down the hardest breaks by few bpm to flow with house cut around 128. The more bangin’ selections, under cover of darkness, revolve around House/ Techno and UK Nu Skool Break Beat sounds that range from deep, melodic, sexy, to dark, dirty, nasty, funky, grindy, techy, electro. In day light hours, you might find him spinning trip hop, down tempo, mid tempo and classic hip hop, along with sexy deep house and funk all over the bay area at places like bars, lounges, back yards, yachts, pools, rooftops, houseboat rooftops, small islands, basements, lofts/ warehouses, art galleries, Bay to Breakers, The SF Marathon, campouts, sidewalks, planetariums, Decompression, SF Pride Parade, Ghostship, the Golden State Warriors championship parade in Oakland, or Golden Gate Park. He is currently the sound engineer and resident DJ for both Mercer (on a Turbosound rig), and the Dusty Rhino burning man mobile art piece, where he is also a founding member.

He began DJing on a set of used decks when he was 11 years old.
By 1986, while still in middle school, Hil had begun throwing and promoting parties, playing a mix of freestyle, hip hop, and early house music.
Hil’s drive and love of dance music has not abated. Now one of the Bay Area’s top promoters and still a top-notch DJ, Hil is know for his eclectic house music sets, ranging from funky cuts to electro-fueled tech house to progressive grooves. Of course, says Hil, “I still have all of my old stuff, so you never know when I might throw in something classic.”
Of course, all of this musical diversity serves a purpose. While some DJ’s will play a singular type of music to a crowd that’s not enjoying it, Hil has a deeper appreciation for dancers and wants to make sure everyone has a good time. As he says “I play every level of house music, just to keep the crowd moving.”
In his continuing quest to keep the crowd moving, Hil divides his time between DJing, running a successful promotions company, and work in the studio. He is currently producing music with Homero Espinosa of Yerba Buena Discos.
Living in San Francisco, I have to say that everyone I meet who has been DJing in the Bay area for more than 15 years, is an immediate source of cool music, impressive skills and wicked stories of days gone by. This place doesn’t know how to produce a “bad” DJ in my opinion. Many of you have bumped in to a good friend around town, Hil Huerta, as he distributes the posters and flyers for area events. Beyond that task, you may not know that Hil has played music and hosted events here for almost 30 years (yes since 1986). He’s a walking encyclopedia of awesomeness.
Hardly. Non Sequitur (pronounced non sek’-wit-er) has put all girlish reservations aside to kick ass and take names across the San Francisco Bay Area, one stage at a time. Ms. Sequitur’s unique blend of dirty, groovin’ electro fused with progressive house has earned her a spot in the ranks as one of the Bay’s top up and coming DJs and producers.

With musical roots in punk and indie dance, she strives to create melody-driven progressive electro that is just as heavy as it is mellifluous. She has rocked venues far and wide, ranging from famous San Francisco clubs to the Big Apple. Ms. Sequitur is a resident with Madmen Entertainment, and after ending her 3-year stint at San Francisco weekly EPR, she has taken on a residency with world-renowned venue Ruby Skye. She has played alongside world class acts such as Moby, Gareth Emery, Feed Me, Pierce Fulton, Tritonal, Tommie Sunshine, Jack Beats, Mat Zo, and many, many more.
